CYLINDER SPECIAL NOTE Some model powerheads do not use the "spaghetti" sealIf the engine being serviced does not use the seal, apply coating of 1000 Sealer to the mating surface of the cylinder block and the crankcase coverThe remaining installation instructions apply to all powerheadsAfter the seal on both sides of the cylinder block have been installed, if used, apply light coating of 1000 Sealer to the outside edge of the "spaghetti" sealNext, lower the crankcase cover into place on the cylinder blockInstall the two guide centering pins through the cover and into the blockThe centering pins are taperedTherefore, check the crankcase and notice which side has the large hole and which has the small holeThe pin must be inserted into the large hole firstIf the pin is installed into the small hole first, the crankcase cover or the cylinder block will breakMAIN BEARING BOLT AND CRANKCASE SIDE BOLT INST ALLA TION Apply coating of 1000 Sealer to the threads of the main bearing boltsInstall and tighten the main bearing bolts fingertight and then just bit moreTighten the main bearing bolts alternately and evenly in three rounds to the torque value given in the Torque Table in the AppendixBe sure to check the Specifications in the Appendix for the engine being serviced BLOCK
