TIMING ADJUSTMENTS
Timing Pointer
The timing pointer must be adjusted to indicate top dead center (TDC) of the number pistonThis reference to the position of the number piston is used to synchronize the electronic timing controlled by the EMM with the mechanical position of the number pistonUse Evinrude Diagnostics software to verify and adjust timingRefer to the software's help system for outboard timing verification procedures

WARNING
To prevent accidental starting while servicing, disconnect the battery cables at the batteryTwist and remove all spark plug leadsDisconnect the battery cables at the batteryRemove spark plugsRotate the flywheel clockwise to 30 ATDCInstall Piston Stop Tool, PN 342679, into the spark plug hole of the number cylinder
