Disassembly
Thoroughly clean the unit before disassemblingScrub all outside surfaces with stiff brush and hot, soapy water to prevent surface dirt from contaminating internal partsAlways use lint free shop cloth when handling power trimtilt componentsIf painting the unit is required, paint it after it is completely assembledPainting of individual components may cause flakes of paint to enter the hydraulic passages during assemblyTape the trimtilt piston rods before painting
Slowly remove the manual release valveThere may be pressure behind the valvewear safety glasses
