TRIM AND TILT SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The power trimtilt hydraulic system is completely contained between the outboard's stern bracketsThe system consists of: Electric motor Oil reservoir Pump manifold assembly Cylinder body assembly Optimal boat and outboard performance can be achieved by adjusting (trimming) the angle of outboard propeller thrustThe first 15 of outboard movement is considered trim rangeOutboard movement beyond the trim range is considered tiltingTilting of the outboard may be desired for shallow water drive and for traileringstorageThe tilt cylinder moves the outboard through the tilt range (final 50)A tilt relief valve limits the propeller thrust load that will be supported by the unit in tilt rangeAs pressure increases, the outboard will tilt down to the top of the trim range
Trailering Bracket And Tilt Support
Use the trailering bracket to support the outboard when trailering in the tilted positionThis bracket protects the hydraulic system from damageTilt the outboard up fully, engage the bracket, then tilt the outboard down until the bracket is firmly in position
