OILING SYSTEM TESTS
IMPORTANT: Always perform visual inspections
to identify oiling system leaksMake sure the oil tank is filled and oil supply is not contaminated
Results: Slightly less than 12 is acceptable with outboard not runningSee Oil Injection Pump Circuit Resistance Test No voltage reading, proceed to STEP 2STEP Check voltage on the 55 alternator output wires of the EMMThe alternator output wires (whitered) are terminals 12, 13, 14 of the EMM J2 connectorResults: Proper voltage reading, repair or replace faulty wire harness or connection No or low voltage, check connection from stator to EMM and EMM J2 connectionRepair faulty connection or refer to Stator Tests on p129 for alternator testing proceduresSTEP Monitor the voltage on the oil injector circuit at pin (blue wire) of oil tank connector with outboard running at 1500 RPMUse Electrical Test Probe Kit, PN 342677, and digital volt meter calibrated to scale that reads 55 (DC)Connect positive meter lead to pin and negative meter lead to ground
