Boat performance depends on outboard mounting heightGenerally, the anti-ventilation plate of the gearcase should be in alignment with the bottom of the hullConventional V-hulls often perform well with the anti-ventilation plate approximately in(25 mm) above the bottom of the hullBoats that exceed 50 MPH may benefit from higher outboard heightsConsult the boat manufacturer for specific outboard mounting height information for particular hullTest outboard and boat performance at different heights until the best performance is achieved
Assemble transom mounting plates on mounting boltsApply sealant around the mounting bolt holes on the outer surface of the transomInstall the mounting bolts through the transom from the inside of the boat
IMPORTANT: Be sure that outboard water pressure is not adversely affected by the mounting height of the outboard
