Performance Tests
IMPORTANT: Each test must be performed within to seconds to avoid coil damage from overheating
While connected as above with plunger out, disconnect negative lead from terminal "M" Check that plunger and pinion remain outIf plunger and pinion return inward, replace magnetic switch&
WARNING
When performing the following test, be sure to connect the battery and the starting motor with lead wire of the same size as the original equipment used therePull-InHold-In Test Connect battery to magnetic switch as shown Check that plunger and pinion (over-running clutch) move outwardIf plunger and pinion don't move, replace magnetic switchPlunger and Pinion Return Test Disconnect negative lead from switchmotor bodyCheck that plunger and pinion return inwardIf plunger and don't return inward, replace magnetic switch
