POWERHEAD TIMING CHAIN AND TENSIONER Pull the stopper out of the tension adjusterAdjust the valve clearanceApply oil to the lip of the upper oil seal1
Install two (2) dowel pins and the upper oil seal housingInstall and tighten the bolts securely
2 21Timing chain tensioner adjuster 2Bolts (2) 3Stopper
Turn the crankshaft two (2) revolutions in its normal running directionMake sure that the match marks on the crankcase and the crankshaft are alignedAlso check that the arrow on the cylinder head is aligned with the on the timing sprocket as shownThis indicates that the No1 cylinder piston is at top dead center (TOC) on the compression strokeTo bring each piston to TOC on the compression stroke, align each corresponding number on the timing sprocket with the arrow on the cylinder head
