Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) Coil Tests
Resistance
Disconnect the CPS lead wire from the power packConnect an ohmmeter between the sensor coil leads as shownIf the measurement is out of specification, replace the sensorCPS Coil Resistance Tests Tester probe connection Red (+)
Test Test White Brown
Cranking Output
Disconnect the CPS lead wire from the power packConnect pin test cord, PIN 5034228, as shownConnect peak voltage tester between the sensor coil leads as shown Remove all spark plugsMeasure the sensor coil output at cranking If the measurement is out of specification, replace the sensorCPS Coil Cranking Output Tests Tester probe connection Red (+)
