Disassembly
Pull out starter rope and tie slipknot to relieve spring tension while removing handleRemove two (2) screws and washer retaining motor cover panelUntie knot in rope and remove handle
Avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing, twist and remove all spark plug leadsWear safety glasses while disassembling and assembling manual starters to avoid personal injury by rewind spring tension

Refer to FUEL TANK SERVICE on p67 for fuel tank and lower engine cover removalRemove port and starboard engine coversRemove two screws retaining fuel tank1Motor cover panel
