IGNITION IGNITION TESTS Results: Meter should indicate continuous reading of 220 volts or higherThe voltage reading must be steady at constant engine RPMIf meter reads less than 220 volts, remove the ignition coil primary leadConnect ignition coil primary lead to Stevens NoPL-88 Load Adapter, PIN 507983, red leadConnect adapter black lead to clean engine groundCrank engine and observe meter
Ignition Coil Tests
To avoid personal injury from electrical shock, perform all coil tests on wooden (or insulated) bench top

Resistance Test
Resistance tests may be performed while the ignition coil is still mounted on the powerheadTwist and remove the spark plug leads and primary coil leads from the ignition coilCalibrate ohmmeter on appropriate scaleConnect meter black lead to clean engine groundIf the coil is not mounted on the engine, connect meter black lead to ground tab on the coilConnect meter red lead to coil primary terminal Meter must show 0.1 0.05 ohm
