OIL REQUIREMENTS
Engine Lubricant
IMPORTANT: Failure to follow these recommendations could void the outboard warranty if lubrication-related failure occursEvinrudeJohnson XD30 outboard oil is recommended for use in Johnson 2-Stroke outboards
RUNNING CHECKS&WARNING
DO NOT run outboard without water supply to the outboard's cooling systemCooling system andor powerhead damage could occur
If XD30 oil is not available, you must use an oil that meets NMMA TC-W3RL certification
Engine Lubricant Below 32F (OC)
If the outboard will be operated in temperatures below freezing (32F, DOC), use EvinrudeJohnson XD100
DO NOT run the engine indoors or without adequate ventilation or permit exhaust fumes to accumulate in confined areasEngine exhaust contains carbon monoxide whichif inhaled, can cause serious brain damage or death
Break-In Oiling
These models require 50:1 (2 oil) fueloil ratio during normal operation and 25:1 (4 oil) fueloil ratio during break-inRefer to Break-In (10 Hours) on p35Ratio
