GEARCASE ASSEMBLY Install shift cradle on shift shaft with part number facing straight upUse Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to keep the cradle from rotating on the shift shaftInstall new seal on the shift lever screwApply Nut Lock to threads of the screwMove the shift rod to align hole in the shift lever with hole in gearcaseInstall and tighten the screw 48 to 80 inIbs(5 to Nm)
Tilt nose of gearcase down and install propeller shaft until rear edge of shift cradle is flush with front edge of forward gearSlide shift lever and rod into gearcaseShift lever tangs must engage shift cradle slotsII
