MIDSECTION TOUCH-TRIM (TILT ASSIST CYLINDER)
Hydraulic Unit Replacement
Raise outboard to full tilt position and engage tilt supportLower outboard until tilt support rests on stern bracketsRemove cable from unitRefer to Cable Replacement on p219Remove clip from upper tilt pin
Remove one of the 34 inlocknuts from the lower tilt pin Remove the pin from the stern brackets
1Locknut, lower tilt pin
Remove unit and bushings from stern bracketsTo install the hydraulic unit, lubricate the cylinder and tilt pin bushings with Triple-Guard greaseInstall the bushings1Clip, upper tilt pin
