Installation
Apply Nut Lock to threads of fuel pump mounting screwsPlace screws through pump body and new gasket and thread into cylinder blockTighten screws to torque of 24 to 36 inIbs(3 to Nm) Install hoses on pump and secure with tie straps
General
Before replacing suspect fuel pump, remove and clean the fuel filter and install new filter screenRefer to FUEL FILTER on p149Also, remove the fuel hose from the fuel tank and blow through all passages and hoses with lowpressure compressed air to be sure they are openThis might be the cause of inadequate fuel deliveryIf this procedure does not correct the trouble, refer to fuel system .Vacuum Test on p143 and Fuel Pump Test on p146
Removal
IMPORTANT: To prevent excessive fuel spillage, disconnect hose connector at outboard before disassemblyRemove hoses from fuel pump1Pulse hose 2Inlet hose 3Pump to carburetor hose
