FUEL SYSTEM FUEL SYSTEM TESTS
OMS Pump Pressure Test
40150 PL MODELS
Remove fuel outlet hose from the top of the OMS pumpInstall T-fitting and fuel pressure gauge capable of measuring to 15 psi (0 to 103 kPa)
Results: Normal pressure Perform the Vacuum Test on p143Make sure no air leaks or restrictions exist in the fuel supply hose or boat fuel systemLow pressure Check pulse hose and pulse limiter for restrictionsRefer to PULSE LIMITER on p149 Perform the Vacuum Test on p143Make sure no air leaks or restrictions exist in the fuel supply hose or boat fuel system Make sure fuel flows through the OMS pumpUse fuel primer bulb to force fuel through pump Make sure the pump retaining screws are tight If pulse hose and pulse limiter are good, fuel pump mounting is secure, and pressure is less than psi (21 kPa)refer to OMS Pump Trouble Check Chart on p145No pressure Check pulse hose and pulse limiter for restrictionsRefer to PULSE LIMITER on p149 Momentarily prime or squeeze primer bulb to check gauge operation Confirm fuel flow through OMS pump and vapor separatorUse fuel primer bulb to force fuel through pump and vapor separator Make sure the pump retaining screws are tight If pulse hose and pulse limiter are good, fuel pump mounting is secure, and pressure is less than psi (21 kPa), refer to OMS Pump Trouble Check Chart on p145
