GEARCASE ASSEMBLY2530 Stick the reverse gear thrust washer to the back side of the propeller shaft bearing housing with Needle Bearing Assembly GreasePlace new O-rings on the bearing housing retaining screwsApply Gasket Sealing Compound to the O-rings and threads of the screws

Lightly apply Gasket Sealing Compound to the aft support flange of the bearing housing Align the propeller shaft bearing housing on the guide pin with the word "UP" toward the top
Install one screw in the bearing housingRemove the guide pin and install the second screwTighten screws to 60 to 84 inIbs(7 to Nm)Coat the lower driveshaft splines with Ultra-HPF gearcase lubricantInstall the driveshaft into the gearcase with the water pump key end downBe careful not to damage the seals with the splinesTurn the driveshaft to engage the pinion gear
