GEARCASE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
2530 MODELS
Check outside diameter of the water tube for dents and burrsRemove dents and burrsCheck to be sure the water tube washer is positioned on the water tube
Temporarily install the upper shift rod connector on the gearcase lower shift rodInstall the gearcase onto the exhaust housingGuide the water tube into the water tube grommet and see that the driveshaft engages the crankshaftRotate the flywheel, if necessaryApply Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the gearcase (and extension) retaining screws and threads of the gearcase studPlace lock washer on studInstall and tighten the screws and one nut to torque of 192 to 216 inIbs(22 to 25 Nm)

Lightly apply Triple-Guard grease to upper and lower outside diameter of the water tubeInstall the straight end of water tube through the guide and into inner exhaust tubeApply Triple-Guard grease to two new driveshaft spacer O-ringsInstall O-rings on the driveshaft spacerPosition spacer in exhaust housing with tabs facing rear of the housing1Screws Nut
