IMPORTANT: To simplify reassembly, layout the various screws and clamps in the order of their proper locationRemove the three screws retaining the crankcase head to the powerheadUsing mallet and punch, drive the seals from the crankcase headDiscard the O-ring and seals
Remove the thermostat assembly and temperature switch (if equipped)
Remove the exhaust cover screwsIf necessary, tap the exhaust cover edge with rawhide malletRemove the inner and outer exhaust covers; carefully separate the piecesRemove the cylinder head screws
