Manual Starter
Manual start outboards are equipped with starter lockout mechanismsCheck operation of starter and lockoutManual starter must NOT operate when shift handle is in FORWARD or REVERSE positionRefer to MANUAL STARTER section1Starter wire 2Start switch wire
Electric Starter
IMPORTANT: Starter must operate ONLY when the outboard's shift handle is in the NEUTRAL positionDisconnect the battery cables at the battery
Pull wires out of grommet
Installation Installation is essentially the reverse of removalPay close attention to any additional task that may be required for installationInstall switch wires through grommetConnect the red wires to the starter motor and electrical boxApply Black Neoprene Dip to the connectionsInstall switch to shift bracket and tighten screw securelyInstall start button on shift handle and secure with screw and nutInstall shift handle on bracket and secure with wave washer and screw
