UPPER CRANKCASE SEAL
General
The presence of oil under the flywheel could indicate leaking upper crankcase sealThe upper crankcase seal can be replaced without disassembly of crankcaseRefer to FLYWHEEL SERVICING on p128 for flywheel removal
Installation

To install new seal, apply Gasket Sealing Compound to the outside diameter of the metal casingPosition seal on crankshaft with lip facing crankcase assemblyUpper Crankshaft Seal Installer 9.915 PIN 326271 PIN 321539 2530
Removal

Use RemoverInstaller Kit, PIN 391060To remove seal, install tip "G," PIN 326270, into removerinstaller body, PIN 326271Thread removerinstaller body with tip into seal to engage metal caseWhile holding removerinstaller body, turn pressing screw, PIN 342227, and remove seal
