ELECTRICAL ELECTRIC STARTER SERVICING If cup will not pull up over ring, use screwdriver or similar tool to compress ring and pry cup up over ringInstall protective cap over armature shaft and spacerAttach rectifier and two black wires to starter bracket

Reconnect the battery cables at the batteryRefer to No Load Current Draw Test on p98 to check starter operation

Position the starter bracket on the powerheadSecure the starter bracket using the two screws with washers and the locknut with washerBe sure to install the ground lead and lock washers on the lower screwTighten the screws and locknut 60 to 84 inIbs(7 to Nm)
