MAINTENANCE BATIERY AND BATTERY CONNECTIONS
Electric Starter
Lubricate the starter pinion area of the starter shaft with Starter Lube
BATTERY AND BATTERY CONNECTIONS
Check battery connections frequentlyClean and service battery connections at regular intervals
IMPORTANT: Do not use liquid or aerosol spray
lubricants
WARNING

Battery electrolyte is acidic-handle with careWear eye protectionIf electrolyte contacts any part of the body, immediately flush with water and seek medical attention Confirm that battery meets the minimum engine requirements Connections must be clean and tight Observe all wiring connections prior to disassemblyDisconnect battery negative (-) cable first and the battery positive (+) cable lastClean all terminals, battery posts, and connectors with solution of baking soda and waterUse wire brush or battery terminal tool to remove corrosion buildupRinse and clean all surfacesReinstall battery and tighten all connections securelyRefer to Installing Battery on p49
