MAINTENANCE COOLING SYSTEM Install flushing adapter and garden hoseFlush outboard for at least five minutesTurn off water supplyRemove garden hose and flushing deviceReinstall plugPosition outboard in VERTICAL position (DOWN) long enough to allow the powerhead to drain completely
Water Intake Screens
Inspect condition of water intake screensClean or replace as neededConfirm function of overboard water pressure indicatorClean or replace plug and nozzle as needed

Remove propeller and shift the outboard to NEUTRALTurn water supply onSTART outboardRun outboard at IDLE only for at least five minutesShut OFF the outboardTurn off water supplyRemove garden hose and flushing deviceReinstall plug (9.915 HP models)Uncover taped holes (2530 HP models)Leave the outboard in VERTICAL (DOWN) position long enough for the powerhead to drain completelyReinstall propeller
