TIMING BELT
INSPECT EVERY 200 HOURS (12 MONTHS)REPLACE EVERY YEARSIf wear, cracking, or other damage is found, replace1Remove: Spark plugs Recoil starter (See page 5-2) Flywheel (See page 3-20) Condenser charging coil screws (See page 3-20) Battery charging coil screws (See page 3-20)
2Rotate the crankshaft to align the PUNCH mark on the timing pulley with the INDEX mark on the cylinder block
IA CAUTION I
Rotate the crankshaft in the normal running direction (clockwise) to prevent water impeller damage

Do not rotate the cam pulley with timing belt installedRotate the timing pulley (crankshaft) by using 32 mm wrench3Remove the timing belt from the cam pulley first, then from the timing pulley
