GEARCASE ASSEMBLY -8 To complete gearcase servicingRefer to: WATER PUMP LEAK TEST PROCEDURE LUBRICANT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROPELLER Use Seal Installer, PIN 342663, to install new seal in the rear of the bearing housingApply OPL Penetrating Lubricant to the casing of the seal before installingInstall the seal with the exposed lip facing away from the bearing housingPress the seal into the housing until the tool seatsApply Triple-Guard grease to the seal lips after installing
IMPORTANT: Pressure and vacuum test gearcase before filling with Ultra-HPF gearcase lube

IMPORTANT: Make no dry assembliesLubricate all bearings, shafts, and gears with Ultra-HPF gearcase lubeOil the small bearing and install it in the propeller shaft bearing housing using Bearing Installer, PIN 339751Press against the lettered side of the bearing when installingApply Triple-Guard grease to new bearing housing a-ringPlace the a-ring in the bearing housing grooveTo install the forward bearing cup into the gearcase, remove the gearcase from the holding fixture, and place the nose of it on wooden blockDrive in the bearing cup with mallet and Bearing Cup Installer, PIN 319929, attached to Drive Handle, PIN 31188032560
