POWERHEAD CAMSHAFT SEAL
CAMSHAFT SEAL
General
The presence of oil under the cam pulley could indicate leaking camshaft sealThe seal can be replaced without disassembly of the cylinder head Remove the belt, cam pulley, and key as described in REMOVALHP or REMOVALHP
Installation
To install new seal, apply Gasket Sealing Compound to the outside diameter of the metal casingPosition seal on cylinder head with lip facing up
IMPORTANT: When starting seal over the cam, be sure the lips fit properly and the seal is square in the boreUse Camshaft Seal Installer, PIN 342668, and mallet to install the seal flush with the top of the cylinder head
