To prevent accidental starting while servicing, twist and remove spark plug leads and disconnect the battery cables at the batteryThe motor cover is machinery guardUse caution when conducting tests on running outboardsDO NOT wear jewelry or loose clothingKeep hair, hands, and clothing away from rotating partsWear safety glasses to avoid personal injury, and set compressed air to less than 25 psi (172 kPa)Gasoline is extremely flammable and highly explosive under certain conditionsUse caution when working on any part of the fuel systemProtect against hazardous fuel sprayBefore starting any fuel system repair, carefully relieve fuel system pressureFailure to check for fuel leakage could allow leak to go undetected, resulting in fire or explosion
