FUEL SYSTEM FUEL PUMP Remove screws securing fuel pump cover, reed valve, and housing to base and separate components
Inspection
Inspect all components for excess wear andor defectsReplace components if required
Assembly
Reassemble fuel pump as follows: Place large spring and diaphragm in position in baseAlign diaphragm stem tip with tab in baseInsert plunger in small spring and align plunger slot with stem tip and tab Push components together and rotate diaphragm 90 to secure components in place Place reed valve in position between cover and housing Attach cover and housing to baseApply Nut Lock to screws and torque to 35 to 56 in.lb(4 to Nm)Lubricate fuel pump base O-ring with Tripe-Guard greaseInstall O-ring on fuel pump base
