MAINTENANCE 10-HOUR INSPECTION Stop the engineAdjust the idle speed screw to achieve RPM in FORWARD gear: HP1200 RPM HP -1000 RPM

Tighten screw to 48 to 96 inIbs(5.4 to 10.8 Nm)
10-HOUR INSPECTION
IMPORTANT: All Johnson outboard owners are encouraged to return their new engines to an authorized dealer for mechanical checkThis check should be performed after approximately 10 operating hoursThe cost of this check should be figured at local dealer labor rates and paid by the engine ownerThe 1O-hour inspection should check: Anticorrosion anodes Water intake screens Overboard waterpump indicator Steering systemLubricate as needed Throttle and shift operation Fuel system components, repair any leaks Fuel filter, eliminate any contamination Fasteners, tighten loose components Air silencer, clean and inspect Thermostat operation Engine to transom mounting Electrical and ignition wires and connections Synchronization and linkage adjustments Drain break-in oil from crankcase sump and refill with EvinrudelJohnson Ultra 4-Stroke synthetic blend oil Drain and refill gearcasePressure and vacuum test gearcase if signs of water are presentRefer to ENGINE MAINTENANCE AND INSPEC TION SCHEDULE
