Shift remote control lever to REVERSETurn outboard OFF while lever control is in REVERSEAttempt restarting the outboardOutboard should not start
DO NOT run the outboard indoors or without adequate ventilationWhen running, the outboard emits potentially harmful fumes which, in sufficient concentrations can lead to unconsciousness, brain damage, or death
Outboard Controls
Verify that controls can be easily moved into all gear and throttle settingsDo not shift outboard when propeller shaft is not turningWARNING
Emergency Stop
Verify stop functionWith outboard running at IDLE, press stop switchOutboard must stop immediately
DO NOT run outboard without water supply to the outboard's cooling systemCooling system andor powerhead damage could occur
Water Pump Overboard Indicator
