GEARCASE BEARING AND SEAL REMOVAL IMPORTANT: Inspect bearings in placeIf bearing is removed for any reasonit must be discardedRemove rear bearing using Puller Bridge, PIN 432127, and Large Puller Jaws, PIN 432129Rest the puller plate on top of the housing to support the bridge, and tighten the jaws securely behind the bearingInspect the bearing housing anodeReplace anode if it is reduced to two-thirds of original size 1Anode
Discard the bearing housing a-ringClean the housing and bearings in solvent and dry thoroughlyIf bearings were not replaced, rotate the needles with your fingers to check for freedom of movementInspect a-ring groove, and sand off any sharp edges that would cut a-ring and prevent its sealingCheck for and remove any nicks or burrs on front of bearing housing
