FUEL SYSTEM FUEL PUMP
FUEL PUMP
General
Before replacing suspect fuel pump, remove and clean the fuel filter and install new filter screenRefer to FUEL FILTERSAlso, remove the fuel hose from the fuel tank and blow through all passages and hoses with low-pressure compressed air to be sure they are openThis might be the cause of inadequate fuel deliveryIf this procedure does not correct the trouble, refer to fuel system Vacuum Test and Fuel Pump Pressure Test
Install hoses on pump and secure with tie straps
1Pulse hose 2Inlet hose 3Pump to carburetor hose
Removal
IMPORTANT: To prevent excessive fuel spillage, disconnect hose connector at outboard before disassemblyRemove hoses from fuel pump
Prime fuel system to check for leaksConnect the fuel hose to outboard and squeeze the primer bulb until definite resistance is felt&
