IGNITION IGNITION PLATE
Assembly
Place the retainer plate, then the support plate on the powerhead Align support plate with four screw holes in powerheadApply Nut Lock to threads of the four support plate screwsInstall and tighten the screws to torque of 48 to 60 inIbs(5 to Nm)Apply Moly Lube to crankcase boss
Apply Nut Lock to the threads of the five ignition plate screwsInsert needle-nose pliers into slots in the ignition plate bearing and compress bearing while guiding the ignition plate into position
Align the ignition plate with the retainer plateTighten the five screws to torque of 25 to 35 inIbs(2.8 to 4.0 Nm)Check for sufficient slack on ignition component leads during full advance movement of the ignition plateRoute component leads through wire clampsPosition Locating Ring, PIN 334994, over machined bosses on the ignition platePush the locating ring against the boss, pull each coil toward the ring and tighten screws to torque of 15 to 22 in.lbs(1.6 to 2.4 Nm)Repeat process for each component
