The ignition plate houses the charge coil, sensor coil, and statorThe ignition plate must be disassembled to service any of these individual components
Loosen the five screws attaching the ignition plate to the retainer plateLift the ignition plate from the powerhead
Disassembly
WARNING
To avoid accidental starting of engine, twist and remove all spark leadsRemove the manual starterRefer to MANUAL STARTER sectionRemove the flywheelRefer to FLYWHEELRemove the screws retaining the ignition component that is being replacedRemove cover from bottom of the ignition plate
