PRE-SEASON SERVICE
If outboard was removed from boat for storage, make certain it has been reinstalled with factoryspecified hardwareRefer to the INSTALLATION AND PREDELIVERY section for proper set-up procedures
BREAK-IN PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Follow this procedure to protect
new outboards during initial hours of operationCareful break-in allows internal engine components to seat properly, resulting in maximum engine life and performanceFailure to carefully follow the break-in procedures can result in outboard damageDuring the break-in, you must use extra oilUse 25:1 (4 oil) fueloil mixture in the fuel tankThe fueloil ratio during normal operation, after break-in MUST be 50:1 (2 oil)Perform the break-in procedure with the boat and outboard in the water, using an appropriate propeller DO NOT perform break-in using flushing device DO NOT start-up or run the outboard out of the water DO NOT leave running outboard unattended
Gearcase Lubricant
Check the lubricant level Inspect gearcase for leaksIf leak is apparent, pressure and vacuum test gearcase Repair gearcase as needed
