Coat the squared-off end of the shift plunger with Needle Bearing Assembly Grease and slide it into the end of the propeller shaft making sure that the rounded end is facing out
Apply Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the retaining screws and around a-ring flange of the gearcase headApply Triple-Guard grease to new gearcase head a-ringInstall the a-ring Apply Triple-Guard grease to the seal lipsInstall the gearcase head and tighten the screws to torque of 60 to 84 inIbs(7 to 9.5 Nm)
