GEARCASE ASSEMBLY68 Install the upper pinion bearing using Pinion Bearing Installer, PIN 319878, 38-16 12 inbolt, and wide washerAssemble the tools with lettered side of the bearing facing the installerDraw the upper pinion bearing into the gearcase until tool contacts gearcaseDisassemble tool componentsThe forward gear and bearing cone are serviced as an assemblyThe bearing can also be serviced separatelyReplace worn or damaged components1
If removed, position new forward bearing race in the gearcaseUsing Bearing Cup Installer, PIN 326025, and mallet, drive the bearing race into its bore until it is seated
