IMPORTANT: Make no dry assembliesLubricate all bearings, shafts, and gears with Ultra-HPF gearcase lubeUse the appropriate socket or seal installer to install new gearcase head sealApply OPL Penetrating Lubricant to the casing of the sealThe seal should be installed with the letters facing outwardTap seal in until seatedApply Triple-Guard grease to the seal lips
Apply thin bead of Adhesive sealant to new shift rod bushing, install it in the gearcase cover, and allow the adhesive to dry

Install the upper driveshaft bearing using Pinion Installation ToolPIN 326575, from Universal Pinion Bearing Remover and Installer, PIN 391257Tap the bearing and sleeve assembly until it seats in the gearcase
