GEARCASE ASSEMB LY3.5 Using the Propeller Shaft Bearing Remover and Installer, PIN 392091, and soft mallet, drive new forward gearcase bearing into the gearcaseSupport the nose of the gearcase on block of wood on the floor while driving the bearing Make sure the lettered side of the bearing is facing the tool to prevent damage to the bearing Drive the bearing as far as it will go
Install two new driveshaft seals back-to-back using Upper Driveshaft Seal Installer, PIN 327431Apply Gasket Sealing Compound to the metal casing of the sealsInstall the inner seal with the lip facing inward and the outside seal with the lip facing outwardApply Triple -Guard grease between the lips of the sealsInstall two new seals back-to-back into the gearcase bearing housing using Seal Installer, PIN 327572Apply OPL penetrating lubricant to the casing of the sealsInstall the inner seal with the lip facing inward and the outside seal with the lip facing outwardApply Triple Guard grease between the lips of the sealsPlace the pinion thrust washer in the gearcase with the chamfered side facing the top of gearcasePosition the thrust bearing and then the pinion gear
