Remove the shifter spring and the clutch dog from the propeller shaftRemove seal saver and O-ring from gearcase head
Remove and discard the clutch dog pin retaining spring by lifting one end of the spring out of the clutch dog groove with pointed tool, then remove the entire spring from the groove
