A filter element is located under the fuel pump cover
FUEL PUMP68
Before replacing suspect fuel pump, remove and clean the fuel filter elementAlsoremove the fuel hose from the fuel tank and blow through all passages and hoses with low-pressure, compressed airCorrection of blockage would eliminate unnecessary servicing or replacement of fuel pump
Removal
Loosen screw and remove coverRemove filter elementNote gasket position

Cleaning and Inspection
Clean all parts of the filter assembly with mild aerosol solvent and blow dryDo not dry parts with cloth as lint might stick to the parts and clog the passagesDissolve any gummy deposits with Cleaning Solvent
IMPORTANT: Prior to disassembly or testing, loosen the fuel tank's gas cap momentarily to release pressureTo prevent excessive fuel spillage, disconnect hose connector at outboard before disassembly
