MAINTENANCE SYNCHRONIZATION AND LINKAGE ADJUSTMENTS68 Adjust the throttle cable bracket to align with its mounting hole Turn the slow speed needle clockwise until it seatsSeat needle lightly; then back needle out (counterclockwise) turns
Before fastening the throttle cable bracket to powerhead, turn the bracket one revolution toward the throttle lever to lightly preload the throttle toward the closed positionInstall the throttle bracket screw
Turn the cracking screw in until the spring is fully but lightly compressed
Carburetor
IMPORTANT: The outboard must be mounted on the boat and in the water, or in test tank, with the appropriate propeller or test prop installed to make this adjustmentMake the following adjustments first: Use ball hex screwdriver to back out the throttle cam follower screw until the follower does not touch the camAdvance the throttle as needed to access the cam follower screwReturn linkage to the lowest throttle setting and verify the follower does not touch the camScrew, throttle cracking
