17Carefully slide the propeller shaft assembly into the forward gear18Place the thrust washer in recess of the reverse gearSlide the reverse gear onto the propeller shaft and rotate it slightly until it engages the pinion
19Apply avIC Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the retaining screws and around a-ring flange of the gearcase head Apply avIC Triple-Guard grease to new gearcase head a-ringInstall the a-ringApply avIC Triple-Guard grease to the seal lipsInstall the gearcase head and tighten the screws to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)
20Install seal saver on propeller shaft with lip facing outPress it securely in place21Apply CIVIC Triple-Guard grease to the driveshaft seal lipsInstall the driveshaft and rotate to engage pinion splines
