Gearcase Servicing2, 2.3, 3.3 Removal
1To avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing, twist and remove spark plug leadGearcase does not have to be removed from exhaust housing to repair water pump
2Remove cotter pin, propeller, and drive pin from the gearcase
3Remove the two screws exhaust housing

4Withdraw the gearcase carefully to avoid damaging the driveshaft and water tube5Pull tube and upper driveshaft from gearcase6Drain the gearcase by removing the oil level plug and oil filldrain plugDisassembly
