first12 The difference between the two measurements is the out-ofroundness and must be no more than 0.002 in(0,05 mm)13Refer to Engine Specifications, Section for piston dimensions

[] 14Place each ring, separately, in its respective boreUse piston to square the ring in the cylinderUse feeler gauge to measure the ring end gap 2,2.3,3.3The ring end gap must be within 0.0060.014 in(0,150,35 mm) 4,6,8The ring end gap must be within 0.0050.015 in(0,130,38 mm)The gap on new rings must be within 0.0060.012 in (0,150,30 mm), end gap on used rings must not exceed 0.031 in (0,8 mm)[] 15Use feeler gauge to check groove side clearance of the piston rings Install each ring on its pistonWith the ring fully seated in its groove, make several checks around the piston 2,2.3,3.3The side clearance must not exceed 0.0026 in(0,065 mm) 4, 6,The side clearance must not exceed 0.004 in (0,10 mm)
