IGNITION OUTPUT TESTS5 &
All cranking output tests must be performed with spark plug installed and torqued in cylinder headIf spark plug is removed, be sure to keep spark tester away from spark plug hole
STEPTOTAL OUTPUT TEST
1Adjust spark gap on spark tester to 3 in(0,9 mm)Connect tester lead to spark plug lead Secure tester clip to clean engine ground
& To prevent possible arcing of high voltage, position tester
leads at least in(51 mm) from any metal surface Crank engineSpark should jump consistently If not, go to STEPSTOP CIRCUIT ELIMINATION TEST

1Disconnect bluered and black leads to stop switch Crank engineIf spark jumps gap, replace stop switch assembly If there is no spark when cranking, go to STEP CHARGE COil TESTQ
