Ignition Component Replacement4 Ignition Coil 1Twist and remove cover to remove the spark plug lead and primary leads from the ignition coils2Notice the fastener and washer orientation before removing any screws3Remove the coil mounting screws and remove the coil and washers]4Assemble the correct sequence of washers and locate the ignition coil on the powerheadInstall and tighten the retaining screws to torque of 48-96 inIbs(5,4-10,8 Nm)5Apply light coating of OMC Triple-Guard grease to the ribbed portion of the spark plug ceramics and to the openings of each of the spark plug lead coversInstall the spark plug leads6Apply light coating ofOMC Triple-Guard grease to the opening of each primary lead cover and install the coversObserve proper wire routing and ignition timingOrangeblue primary lead must be connected to the No.1 ignition coilIgnition Module 1Separate the ignition module connector2Remove the ignition module mounting screws and remove the ignition module3Clean the ignition module mounting bosses to provide clean engine ground 4Lightly coat threads of ignition retaining screws with OMC Gasket Sealing CompoundInstall the ignition module screws, finger tight[] 5Set the air gap between the ignition module and flywheel using nonmetallic gauge that is 0.013-0.017 in (0,33-0,43 mm) thick (such as the card supplied with every new ignition module)6Torque the retaining screws to 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm) ,
