Motor Tube ServicingExcept BFL4TM Model Disassembly 1Refer to Steering Housing, Section for steering housing removalRemove steering housing assembly from top of motor tubeRemove motor tube from mounting bracket
2Position motor tube into OVIC Tube Holding Block, PIN 345828, and tighten securely in viseHeat threaded area of electric motor housing and remove housing from motor tubeTo avoid injury, use insulated gloves when handling warm componentsReassembly
1Use OVIC Thread Tap Kit, PI 5000006, to clean threads of housingPull wires through tap, turn until fully seated and remove
2Position motor tube in holder and tighten securely in viseApply OVIC Locquic Primer to threads, let dry, apply Loctite 277 and install motor housing so that the holes on top of motor tube are parallel to propeller shaft
3If new motor tube is used, place steering housing on top of motor tube and align housing so it is parallel with propeller shaftMark holes on each side of motor tube and drill 136 in hole on each side
