4 Inch Motor Servicing Disassembly
Before servicing any electrical parts, disconnect the battery cables from battery to prevent electrical sparks1Remove propeller

from armature shaft
2Mark lines across front and rear parting lines of motor for reference during reassembly3Remove thru-boltsfront end cap and armature center section Discard a-ring
4Separate rear housing from center section, Remove brush plate screwsspacers Q) and remove rear housingDiscard a-ring5Pry seals Q) from rear housing if worn or damaged6Loosen set screws Reassembly Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly, with special attention to these steps1Install new a-rings, lightly coated with CIVIC Triple-Guard grease2Install new sealsApply OIVIC Gasket Sealing Compound to outside diameter, and CIVIC Triple -Guard grease to the lipsInstall seals with lips facing out
